Tris went for review

Yesterday, we brought tris to doctor for review. As usual, he would cry a bit when the doc examined him. He was better but still need to be on neb till this week. After the whole thing, he was to his usual self. He "talked" and "talked" to the doc. The doc made a remark saying that Tris talked as if he was "scolding" him. Haha. This doc has a sense of humor.

Tristen on Nebilizer

Tristen will always cry when he is on nebilizer. While preparing, I switched on the Playhouse Disney Channel which showed "Thomas & friends". He was so captivated by the song that he forgot he was on nebilizer. He did not cry but sat down quietly watching it. Amazed by it!

Tristen reading books

Nowadays, Tris likes to look at books. When I read to him, he will listen attentively. It is good to explore them with vocabularies. He will talk alot and he is now beginning to develop syllabus.

He knows how to say "PAPA", "DADDY". When I say the word "milk milk", he begins to smile at me, knowing his milk is on its way!

The Porta-Neb

Tris went back to the doctor again. Heard some wheezing in his lungs so decided to consult before it gets worse. Doc said its coming back and we have to nebulize him. So we decided to buy the whole machine instead of renting it. $300 plus !!!( Claimable from my company of course...Love my company. Hehe!)
The machine is called Porta-Neb. Tris has phobia everytime he sees that so its quite a work out to administer that to him.
Here's a video to show his reaction everytime when we try to nebulize him.

A Constant Battle - By Daddy

Tristen was showing some signs of bronchitis again. Started coughing during the morning about 2 am. Thought that it was just a one off thing like maybe the air con was too cold, itchy throat, maybe its just the dust or perhaps its morning and he's just clearing his throat.... Just refusing to entertain the thought that maybe the bronchitis is back. The two of us are having emotions similar to a sine curve. One moment you think that everythings gonna be alright cos Tristen is healthy and there's no coughing, one moment you have a thought like "when is it going to be over?! When is the cough going to stop?!! I BIND YOU DEVIL!!!!" Just because Tristen was coughing a little here and there. I think the fact that we are first time parent makes us a little "gan chiong"(meaning nervous) when there's a slightest sign of illness.... even a sneeze and we go " I BIND YOU SATAN, I BIND YOU!!! LOOSE HIM LOOSE HIM!!! ARRRRRGH!!!"
Then there's the 1001 advices from people, like eat this magical medicine and everything will be ok, go see a different doctor cos this ones not working, Take this herb, drink more water, don't take too much medicine and let the body fight the virus, how about cod liver oil, eat apples, eat orange, eat papaya, eat durian, eat this, eat that, do this, do that, blah blah blah blah.......
Well the 2 of us gave it a thought and we just have to pull ourselves together. The fight against virus is a constant battle. We can't just expect it to go away instantly and hope that he'll never cough or sneeze ever ever again...ah....aaah .aaah....AAAAAH CHEW!!!!....excuse me.....
Adults can catch a virus anytime, how much more a baby like our cutie pie Tristen who is teething and his immunity system is at its all time low. The body takes time to fight and be acustom to the "harsh" environment we have. At times its winning and at times it loses ground. We just have to expect it and not be so worried or surprised when he's not feeling well. AND if all these reasons are not good enough to comfort you, then just remember 1 thing...... GOD IS IN CONTROL. His ways are higher so we just have to trust him. We perform our part by doing what's best for Tristen and we let GOD do the rest. We pray for him knowing at the back of our mind that Jesus not just bore our sins but also our sickesses and that the Holy Spirit is there in the cot comforting him.
So for those who are reading this and you or maybe your little precious is in the battlefield against a certain virus(touch wood), you are not alone cos we are your fellow comrades. So be brave!!! For the enemies will flee in 7 ways!
All this we do so that we can see a big smile on the face of our little precious.
Its worth every bit of it.

His favorites are jingles from discovery channel, songs from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Theme songs from chinese drama and..... Hokkien songs.......no its not a typo error, you read it correctly, HOKKIEN SONGS. Yi4 Nan2 Wang4 on channel 8 at 5pm.
Not surprise that he may even like this......"JIU GAN TAM BUAY BO..."

4 big ones and counting

As you can see from the pics, its 2 on top and 2 below. Well this was one of the reasons Tris fell ill for a couple of times last few weeks..... Teething. The PD said immunity system is low when it happens. But thank God that he's ok now! So it won't be long to see him chomp some real solid food.
How about a steak Tris??

A natural for brass instruments

Caught our little prince buzzing his lips. Can't help thinking if he's gonna take up a brass instrument in the future. Maybe the trumpet like his Daddy!!(Daddy will be proud). He sticks out his tongue while doing it, but actually he can do it without sticking it out. Not many can do it at first. Hope he'll continue To spray his "showers of blessing". 1 2 3!!! Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Tristen's favourite toy

Few months ago, we subscribed to Playhouse Disney. I must admit that I watched Playhouse Disney more than other channels. It was quite fun watching them. I Even know how to sing the songs. The programmes such as Pocoyo, Bob the Builder, Thomas and friends, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and many more. Tristen's favourite porgramme is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Whenever I switched on to watch it, he would smile and was happy.

At one time, he cried but when we switched on to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, he stopped crying. It's really amazing.

Now, he has a mickey mouse toy! I would use it to play with him. He was very happy. He is a great fan of Mickey Mouse. Next time, when he is older, i will bring him to watch Disney on ice!

More Pictures of Tristen

Just want to put some pictures of Tristen since birth till now! See how he really grows!

Tristen sitting in his walker

Tristen does not like to sit in his walker. Whenever we put him in, he will refuse to go in and we will always "force" him.

Today, it's really a "miracle". He sat in his walker for a very long time. Great!

Tristen

Tristen is a happy and smiling boy! He is so cute. Now, he is 9 months already. Time really flies. Here are some pictures of Tris!

Tristen Admitted to Hospital Again!

Tristen admitted to the hospital again due to very bad cough. It was on Sunday night and Lester had gone off to Oslo for a course on Sat. I called the doc because Tris was very listless and his cough was non stop. He developed fever. So he asked me to bring Tris to hospital. He examined him and found that he had hard time breathing and admitted him. He was put in the isolation room for spreading the virus to anybody.

I cried a few times. I was wondering why this thing happened to me and Lester was not around. I know that God is with me! I thanked God for smses that really encouraged me. I know that Tris will get well soon!

I spent 4 days in the hospital. Day after day, Tristen got better and better as the days went by. On the third day, the doc told me good news!! He had NO MORE virus in his body! Praise God!

Now, Tris is resting. I have to take 1 week leave just to ensure everything is ok. My leaves are all used up by him!

I really thank God for all my friends who have been there and prayed for him. And I also thank God for Doctor Ong who really takes good care of Tristen.

I will be back to upload some photos and videos during the stay in hospital.

Counting down: 2 more days, my husband will be back!

Tristen in Hospital

On Sunday, we brought Tristen to see a doctor because of his bad cough. The doctor said that he was wheezing and suspected that he has pneumonia. He went through blood test and x-ray! When the results were out, the doctor said he had acute bronchitis. We were given two choices. One is home treatment and another one admission. We decided to admit him.

He stayed for 3 days in hospital. He had to go through physiotherapy and suction. Seeing and hearing him cry made me feel like crying also. So young that he had to go through all these things! Whenever he saw any nurse that came and took his temperature, he would cry! Even when he saw the doctor, he cried too. He had phobia.

The phlegm was tested and found out that the germs that he carried was rare and not so good. According to the doctor, it was airborne and could be caught from parents. That's why he was not getting any better. He was given a special antibiotics which would cause allergy. Thank God that Tristen did not have any allergy!

On the third day, he was discharged. Our bills were mounted up to $2500 plus! Thank God, for Lester's company! He can claim up to 75% of the total bill! Not only that we can claim extra $175 per day. Sidetrack: Whenever we bring Tristen to see doctor, we can claim the full amount until 6 years old. So good right! Don't envy. Haha

Now, he is resting at home. I will not send him to nursery for 1 month. Meantime, my mom will help me.

Thank you for all your smses and your gifts. Please continue to pray for him.
